(PA) Pittsburgh Public School District Case Study

  • Level: K–12

  • Implementation Focus: District-wide middle school implementation and K–5 pilot focused on building the district’s Extended After-School (EAP) and Intervention programs. The district chose to adopt Odyssey as a Tier 2 Response to Intervention instructional software for mathematics and reading/language arts. Going forward, the district will also use the new Odyssey High School during support sessions for supplemental and remedial instruction, as well as for preparing students for the PSSA in both content areas.

(OK) Tulsa Independent School District School Effectiveness Report

  • Level: Elementary

  • Implementation Focus: Summer School Pilot Program for 3rd Grade Intervention to help the district meet its goal of ensuring that “each student will meet or exceed state and national standards by demonstrating mastery of an individualized and challenging comprehensive curriculum.” Subsequently, Tulsa Independent School District expanded the implementation to an additional 13 schools, bringing the total number of schools using Odyssey to 17.

(PA) What Works Clearinghouse Intervention Report — Odyssey Math

  • Level: 5th Grade
  • Subject: Math
  • Implementation Focus: Doctoral dissertation that compares usage levels of CompassLearning Odyssey mathematics software among fifth-grade students to determine the relationship between usage and achievement. Results showed a significant relationship between CompassLearning Odyssey mathematics software and achievement as measured on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA). Read more here.
